Celia Zhang (Violin)

Celia Zhang, former student of Syoko Aki and Naoko Tanaka, is a graduate of the Juilliard School and the Yale School of Music, where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees, respectively. She has spent many summers attending the Aspen Music Festival and School, as well as the Great Wall Academy, the Great Mountain Music Festival and School, the Spoleto Festival, and Music Academy of the West. Having given performances throughout the United States, China, Austria and South Korea, she is an experienced soloist, chamber musician and orchestral member. She has appeared in concert with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, the Norwalk Symphony, the Hartford Symphony, and the Jacksonville Symphony, among others, and has also been an active member of the music outreach community through the Music In Schools Initiative, partnering graduate students of the Yale School of Music with the music programs in New Haven Public Schools. Additionally, she served as the Co-Director of the String Orchestra of the All-City Honors Ensemble, as well as a Teaching Artist at the Morse Summer Music Academy. Celia is very excited to join the EKS Faculty roster, and looking forward to working with its faculty and students this coming year!
